Digitalisation for sustainable operation

Energy & Environment

Less steam, less carbon, less waste, fewer shutdowns.

A digital twin of your amine unit shows what a healthy plant should be doing at every moment. The gap between that and what it is doing is where energy, carbon and materials are lost. Digitalised operation turns that gap into named faults, better settings and planned work.

How digitalisation delivers it

Model, find the gap, close it, prove it.

01

Model the healthy plant

A digital twin, calibrated on your own history, says what the unit should be doing at every moment. Run carries it.

02

Find the gap

The difference between the twin and the plant is where steam, solvent and uptime are lost. Detect names the fault; Prognose sees the slow ones coming.

03

Close it

Optimise finds better settings inside the ranges you approve, and Control says which set-point to move. Every move is checked by the diagnosis first.

04

Plan and prove it

Plan turns faults into maintenance work before failure. Report and Compare show what changed, in steam, money and CO₂.

The evidence

Four claims, tested on a real plant.

We tested the four benefits most often claimed for digital twins against 13 days of one-minute data from an industrial MDEA unit. Energy held, and emissions follow from it. Availability fell short, and maintenance could not be tested. We publish all four.

Energy
11.1% less reboiler steam from set-points alone, at the same gas quality. Supported within the recorded range; up to 20% needs a plant trial.
Emissions
3,780–5,470 t CO₂ and USD 0.49–0.71 million a year, as steady-state potential.
Availability
16% of fault-hours had a live warning at onset, below the 30–50% published. Not yet supported; we are improving the forecast.
Maintenance
64% of work raised before failure. A cost saving needs a record of existing practice, so none is claimed.

Start with the steam number.

It is the easiest saving to check, and the one every other gain builds on.
