Emissions

Lower Carbon

Every tonne of steam saved is CO₂ not emitted.

In an amine unit most of the carbon footprint sits behind the reboiler steam. Cut the steam and you cut the emissions of the boiler that raises it. The platform turns each saving into tonnes of CO₂ and money, with the assumptions on the table.

3.8–5.5 ktCO₂ avoided per year
10–15%of regeneration-related CO₂
$0.5–0.7MSteam cost saved per year (USD)

Case studySteady-state potential, not a certified reduction. Assumes 8,000 h a year, boiler efficiency 0.85, 56.1 kg CO₂ per GJ and USD 18 per tonne of steam.

A carbon number you can defend.

01

Start from measured waste, not a target

Most roadmaps start with a target and work backwards. This one starts with the steam already being wasted in your own operating history, priced and linked to a named fault. Ranked over time, that is an abatement list with costs attached.

02

Use your own emission factor

The figures above use a stated, typical boiler factor. Your honest factor depends on how your utilities are fired, so the platform shows the steam saved and lets you apply your own site factor.

03

For capture plants, the stakes are higher

A CO₂ capture plant uses the same absorber and stripper loop, and the regeneration steam is its largest operating cost. There, every tonne of steam saved is a direct gain in net capture efficiency.

04

Carbon and materials in one plan

Amine you did not have to buy and waste you did not have to dispose of belong in the same plan. The platform prices solvent life and amine losses alongside the steam.

What this is not

  • These are calculated potentials, not certified reductions. We have no emissions trading module and no third-party verification. What the platform gives you is the measured basis: where energy is lost, why, and what it is worth. Turning that into a certified number is work for your energy team and your verifier.

A carbon plan needs a number you can defend.
